WHO ARE WE?

The Forever Príncipe conservation alliance builds partnerships to develop and support biodiversity conservation research on the island of Príncipe in the Gulf of Guinea.

Forever Príncipe is part of the Conservation Tourism Programme of Africa’s Eden, and is based at the Belo Monte Hotel.

Profits generated from tourism at the Belo Monte Hotel pay for priority conservation research on the island. Natural and cultural heritage are key enablers for tourism on the island. Allowing tourists to experience Príncipe’s unique features first hand, and thereby generating income to support it, is a win-win situation.

Africa’s Eden and its Forever Príncipe conservation alliance have set out to work on a conservation tourism program developing and supporting conservation projects through diverse partnerships. For example, Belo Monte Hotel has supported the research expeditions of the California Academy of Sciences on Príncipe for many years.
